Sharon Kavhu is a Zimbabwean versatile journalist who is based in Namibia. She has 12 years of experience. In her experience, she had a chance to explore a variety of news desks in print, broadcasting and digital media.
She has won numerous awards including the UNFPA & NJAMA Maternal Health Reporter of the Year (1st Runner-Up) in 2012-13; PEPFAR National Media Awards on HIV and AIDS coverage (3rd Prize) in Zimbabwe (2016); National Aids Council Media Awards first prize (2017) for covering HIV/AIDS issues, and Merck Foundation Media Award for Best Online stories on Infertility (2021 and 2022) southern Africa.
She was recently employed by The Southern Times Newspaper (SADC) from 2018 to 2022. She is currently freelancing for global news publications such as CGTN, and Reuters. She has worked for Zimpapers Newspapers Xinhua News Agency; China TV; AFP (London); and BBC Africa Health Desk.
